Zhou Zhongyao was born in Changsha, Hunan Province in 1945. He is now member of Hunan Branch of Chinese Artists Association.
He is devoted to the study and creation of gongbi paintings of flowers-and-birds. His works are natural, in proper perspective, mysterious and have good lighting effects. He stresses the integration of subject with background and expands the capacity of his picture. His paintings are fresh and exquisite, and give people much food for thought. His works were put on display in France, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong. His achievements in art have been included in "Directory of Famous Painters in Modern China" and "Directory of Famous Contemporary Painters of China"
